“It feels like we’ve taken several steps back,” is a phrase that I have heard many times in the last 48 hours, and I guess in many ways we have. To be honest though life can often feel like we are taking steps back or at best treading water. However, with God we have a God who never stays still, never sleeps or slumbers. That has certainly been our experience over the last few months at Reality. Yes, ministry looks very different but none the less God has been at work opening new doors of opportunity in some surprising directions.
Abundant Life has been redesigned and groups are still being trained in local schools, we are nearly at 30 franchises across the country. Our Coach Mentoring programme in Lichfield Diocese is coming to an end and the with the Trustees I am looking at what next. I have had the opportunity to connect with people who would like to be and are already involved with young people in Leicester and it’s been a joy to listen to their dreams and cheer them on. And God has opened doors for me to do lots of writing. I have just had 12 training blogs published by Urban Saints on their award winning “Energize” website. I’ve sent a second draft of what I hope will become my second Grove booklet “Youth Fuelled Mission”. Finally and most recently I have taken on updating and editing YFC’s “myLife” material; 12 courses of 8 weeks each, not dissimilar to Abundant Life and developing 2 new courses to be used in lots of different contexts including schools and prisons.
So in a world going back into lock down, God doesn’t have to self isolate, He is very much involved and his heart to reach the last, the least and the lost has not changed. Thank you so much for you support, encouragement and prayers, this would not be possible without your investment so thank you from the bottom of my heart. Stay safe, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and be blessed.
